The fence is a single chain link fabric fixed to steel posts with the rows of barbed wire on top conforming to the following specifications. The fence shall consist of the following:
Chain link fence fabric
Fabric shall be chain link with a 50mm diamond mesh and a height of 2400mm (12mm). Fabric shall have the top and bottom selvages machine twisted with the wire cut on a bias to form a barbed finish. The standard length of roll shall be 15m and is woven continuously without splices. The core wire diameter is 3.75mm with a minimum breaking strength of 5340 N. The chain link fabric is vinyl coated by PVC fusion bonded type in accordance with ASTMF 688, class 2b. The core wires are uniformly galvanized in accordance with ASTM A641, class 1, and coated with 0.20mm of PVC applied by the fusion method over a therm set plastic bonding agent. All PVC coating shall be in dark green color.
Barbed wire row shall consist of two twisted strands of not lighter than 2.5mm nominal diameter wire, with four barbs of not lighter than 2 mm nominal diameter wire, spaced 125mm apart. The barbs shall be wrapped so as to inter lock with both main strands wire. Core wire shall be uniformly galvanized in accordance with ASTM A 121, class I.
Barbed wire shall be secured to the extension arm by lock wire, lock wire shall be ASTM A641, 360 mm long by 3.75 mm nominal diameter wire, minimum, annealed and galvanized with a 25 mm diameter hook on one end.
Tension wire is vinyl coated and have the same type of coating (PVC Fusion Bonded) as specified for the fence fabric. The core wire shall be a minimum of 3.55 mm nominal diameter and posses a minimum breaking strength of 5740N. The core wire is galvanized in accordance with ASTM A641, Class I.
Tie wire is used to secure fabric and tension wire to the line post and fabric to top rail and tension wire. Tie wire is vinyl coated and have the same type of coating (PVC Fusion Bonded) as specification for the fence fabric. The core wire is 2.65 mm nominal diameter minimum and 250 mm long. The core wire is galvanized in accordance with ASTM A641, Class I.
All tubular posts are schedule 40 and galvanized in accordance with ASTM A53. Post is per table shown on DWG. All posts are supplied with the necessary hole divided for the appropriate fittings.
Fittings are galvanized pressed steel or wrought iron or malleable iron and in accordance with ASTM F 626. All attachment bolts are carriage bolts with nuts (mild steel), except for post extension arms where machine bolts are used. All bolts and nuts are galvanized.
Concertina consist of 2.5 mm nominal diameter wire, with barbed tape razor wire, tape width is not less than 15 mm, and barbed length not less than 22 mm. Coil diameter before extension is 450 mm high strength, 400 mm when stretched, concertina is galvanized.
